Two killed in Highway 63 crash

EDMONTON – The RCMP is investigating a collision just north of Fort McMurray that left two people dead.

Officers were called around 10 p.m. Tuesday to the crash on Highway 63 at the edge of Fort McMurray, approximately two kilometres north of TaigaNova Industrial Park.

Investigators believe a car was going through an intersection when it was hit by a construction vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the car both died at the scene.

The names of the victims have not been released.

The highway was closed for a number of hours while the RCMP investigated.
