Motorcycle rider pronounced dead after crash in Toronto

A motorcyclist is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Toronto on Wednesday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., Toronto police said they were called to the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Grand River Boulevard for reports of the crash.

They said the driver remained at the scene, while a male motorbike rider was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was later pronounced dead.

Police said roads in the area were closed after the crash.
