Police are investigating Winnipeg’s 10th homicide of the year after a man was fatally shot in the downtown area Friday.
Just before 6:30 pm Friday, police responded to Young Street and Portage Avenue for reports of shots being fired.
Around the same time a 20 year old man showed up at hospital suffering from a gun shot wound in the upper body.
He was listed in critical condition, however died of his injuries early this Saturday morning.
Police believe a number of people were involved in a confrontation that ended with a firearm going off.
The homicide unit is investigating and officers are interviewing a number of people.
However no arrested have been made.
