James Wilfred Green, who was imprisoned for second-degree murder following a Winnipeg stabbing death, has died at the Pacific Institution in Abbotsford.
Green, 62, died Saturday, said a news release from Correction Service Canada. A cause of death wasn’t released.

Green was imprisoned in January 1996.
News reports from the time indicate he was charged with murder after a neighbour in the hotel where he was living was beaten and repeatedly stabbed in the back.
The coroner and the prison are investigating Green’s death.
