The five candidates running for the leadership of the Opposition B.C. Conservatives face each other today in their final debate, after a campaign dominated by disputes over their ideological credentials.
Iain Black, Caroline Elliott, Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Peter Milobar and Yuri Fulmer will share the stage in a Global TV studio in Burnaby, with the debate screening on the network’s Global BC 1 channel and other platforms.

The 90-minute debate took place on the day the party started sending out ballots to more than 42,000 party members, with the winner being declared at a convention on May 30.
The first two debates last month revealed sharp disagreements about issues such as land acknowledgments, diversity polices, education, and what it means to be conservative.

But all five candidates agree they will repeal the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
They also broadly agree on plans to revive the provincial economy through a combination of tax cuts, faster permitting and efficiencies.
Former leader John Rustad resigned on Dec. 4, with Trevor Halford acting as interim leader.
Pretty much sums up every party in power, ever.
At Anonymous: They were right enough to join the Conservatives. So that says something.
Go back in time to the SocCreds. Basically party of Blue Grits and Progressive Conservatives. They will repeal it.
Big difference between a Liberal and Blue Grit Liberal and PC and a Con.
Lest we all forget these “Conservatives” are all Lieberals in sheep’s clothing. Changing the party name to try and hide from the past, which some (or all) the candidates were part of the Campvell/Clark fiascos of the past. As such I doubt any of them will actually repeal DRIPA as it would cost them political points if elected. Definitely not saying Eby and the NDP are the better choice, at this point a minority government might actually be the best thing for BC.
1st choice is Dallas, 2nd is Caroline, 3rd is Yuri, 4th ais Iian, 5th is kerry and last place is Milobar. He won’t get my support as he has too much familial baggage going on.
It’s good to see that all five candidates are generally considered to be moderates. More like a Blue Grit liberals.
It’s overdue too much damage these groups do. I dislike the far right almost as much as the far left.
This election is already won if all the candidates want to repeal DRIPA. By far the vast majority of voters (in polls and surveys) have stated they have had enough.
Even Eby knows we have all had enough which is why he wanted to suspend it. And yet Eby is scheming behind closed doors and NDAs with FNs on how to save it in some form.
Meanwhile again behind closed doors and NDAs the FN are threatening protest and blockades. They are basically planning to hold hostage public assets, rail and road access to extort legislation giving them some sort of minority rule over BC. This needs to end now.
