Edmonton – A 50-year-old man has turned himself into police more than two years after a fatal hit and run in northern Alberta.
On Dec. 19, 2011, 27-year-old Gary Lee Curtis Lachance was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of Casino Dene, which is near Cold Lake. Lachance was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital where he later died of head injuries. The investigation did not lead to any suspects.
On Saturday, Wayne Kytwayhat turned himself in at the Leduc RCMP Detachment. The 50-year-old has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident in connection to the fatal collision.
He’s in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in St. Paul on Thursday.
