Man arrested in connection with triple stabbing at Toronto home

A man has been arrested after three people were found with stab wounds at a North York home after police responded to reports of “unknown trouble.”

According to Toronto police, officers were called to the area of Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West at 9:44 p.m. on Monday.

Police say they found five adult family members, four who had been injured as a result of an altercation involving a knife.

Four people were transported to hospital. Two men, aged 23 and 26, sustained life-threatening injuries and remain in critical condition. Two women, aged 51 and 29, are reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a man in his 50s, has since been arrested. Police say the accused was not injured.

Toronto police say all five people are family members.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but added they are not searching for any additional suspects.

The man was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Tuesday morning.
