EDMONTON – RCMP are investigating after a man died after being found severely injured just south of Fort McMurray.
Around 12:30 p.m. Friday, Wood Buffalo RCMP officers were called to help EMS after a man was found near Gregoire Lake, about 35 kilometres south of Fort McMurray.
RCMP say the man was outside in the snow and had severe injuries. He was air lifted to the Northern Lights Regional Hospital, where he later died.
The cause of the man’s death is not known at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
The scene has been closed off as police investigate.
The man’s identity has not been released.
