What a $12.9 million Toronto condo looks like

In a city filled with condominiums, it’s no surprise that several go on the market daily. But a condo listed at nearly $13 million tends to grab one’s attention.

The unit is located at 80 Yorkville Avenue, in the upscale Yorkville neighbourhood.

At 5,600 square feet (with over 2,200 square feet of outdoor space) this is not your typical downtown shoebox condo — which the price tag reflects.

With a relatively reasonable down payment of about $3 million, owning the condo would cost just over $61,000 a month over 25 years.

That number, of course, does not include condo fees of around $5,000 a month and taxes of more than $20,000 annually.

Listed as a 3-bedroom plus den, its many features include marble floors, a spacious walk-in closet, fireplace and panoramic views of the entire city.

“You have views that are facing North, East, South and West and a balcony accompanying each one of those directions,” salesperson Michael McLachlan says of the unit, which covers the entire top floor of the building.

To date, the most expensive condo sold in Toronto is the penthouse suite in the Four Seasons Hotel, also in Yorkville. It went for $28 million in 2011 to an unknown buyer.

The 11,000-square-foot penthouse on the 78th floor of the Aura building on Yonge Street at Gerrard is currently listed at $18.3 million.
