TORONTO – The Crown has dropped all charges against the contractor co-host of a TV renovation show.
Anthony Sayers, 41, of Toronto, was charged last month with extortion, attempted fraud and criminal harassment.
Investigators said the charges stemmed from renovation work done on a woman’s home in February.
The co-host of The Unsellables on HGTV called them false charges, and says the last six weeks of his life were a nightmare.
The Crown concluded there was no reasonable prospect of a conviction.
Sayers says he plans to file a libel suit against Toronto police.
