Two people killed in Alberta shooting, suspect arrested

Two people have been killed in a targeted double homicide outside Grande Prairie, Alberta, RCMP confirm.

Alberta RCMP have arrested 42-year-old Curtis Halliday, in relation to a Dangerous Person Alert for northwestern Alberta, warning the public to be on high alert for an armed and extremely dangerous man.

RCMP say Halliday went on the run in a black 2022 Ford F-350 and was later found in a rural area northwest of Grande Prairie. Authorities say there is no ongoing risk to the community.

Police have not released further details about the circumstances of the shooting or Halliday’s relationship with the victims.

Halliday is described as six-foot-three, Caucasian, with brown hair and brown eyes.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety now.
