REGINA – For the fourth time this year border officials in Saskatchewan have arrested somebody for trying to bring firearms into Canada.

On Monday Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers searched a vehicle at the port of Oungre and found and seized a 9 mm handgun, a loaded .380 caliber handgun, and two high-capacity magazines.

55-year-old John Chris Blanchard of Henderson, Texas was arrested and is scheduled to appear in a Regina courtroom on Friday.

In 2013 CBSA officers seized 24 undeclared firearms in Saskatchewan.
