Wind warnings are in effect for most of the B.C. south coast and Metro Vancouver.

Global BC meteorologist Kristi Gordon says winds will be strongest tomorrow morning along north coast, and tomorrow afternoon along south coast.

The south coast will see initially strong southeast winds, of 70-100 km/h at some points in the afternoon, shifting to westerly winds Saturday evening, which will be lighter at 60-80 km/h.

The hardest hit areas will be the west coast of Vancouver Island and southern tip of island near Victoria.

Western sections such as Richmond, Tsawwassen, and White Rock will also be hardest hit on the mainland.

There could be ferry delays, flight delays and power outages tomorrow afternoon and evening.

We are also going to see heavy rain, which will ease off by Sunday morning. Sunday is still expected to be wet from another system arriving on the coast.
