One week since family has heard from Laura Lee Robertson

LIVERPOOL, N.S. – Nobody has seen or heard from Laura Lee Robertson since Apr. 13, the night before the 47-year-old woman failed to show up for work.

Police in Liverpool, N.S. continue to search for her, but investigators haven’t said they suspect foul play.

Her daughter, Amanda Jones, says she is heartbroken and fears the worst.

It’s completely out-of-character for Robertson to just disappear without a word, she says.

Her keys and purse were left behind in her School St. apartment, making it look less likely, in the family’s eyes, the woman simply wandered off.

“Were sad and when the sadness passes, there’s anger,” Jones says.

“And all the questions of why, and then it overwhelms you to the point where you’re whole body goes numb.”

The last person to see Robertson was her live-in fiancé, Jamie Leopold.

He’s no longer living at the residence and has been staying with relatives.

Robertson and Leopold, according to her Facebook, have been engaged since March 7.

Local RCMP said Wednesday they have stepped up their search efforts and have brought in helicopters to conduct an air search.

“We have concerns because it’s out of the norm (for her),” Staff Sgt. Jeff Wells says.

The family is urging anyone with information on Robertson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Police or Crime Stoppers.
