WATCH: Weather specialist Jill Chappell delivers the short-term weather forecast
HALIFAX – Atlantic Canadians are bracing for a messy mix of weather.
Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for all four provinces, where snow, rain and wind are expected to create nasty conditions Thursday and Friday.
The heaviest rainfall is expected along Nova Scotia’s Atlantic coast, where forecasters are calling for upwards of 65 millimetres.
Forecasters say the Cape Breton Highlands could see 20 centimetres of snow before the precipitation turns to rain.
Similar amounts of snow are expected in P.E.I.’s Prince County, with higher amounts predicted for parts of New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
Environment Canada says the snow will change to rain, with the possibility of freezing rain and ice pellets in certain areas.
Forecasters say winds gusting up to 100 kilometres an hour will also pound parts of the region as the low-pressure system moves through.
