SALMON ARM–Some scary moments at a Shuswap Secondary school Tuesday as students and staff were suddenly evacuated.
The action came following what school officials and RCMP describe as a ‘viable threat’ against the Jackson Campus of Salmon Arm Secondary.
The students and staff were instructed to walk to the school’s second campus (Sullivan) where school buses were re-routed for regular pick up.
RCMP spent Tuesday afternoon working to ensure the safety of the Jackson Campus building.
Police are not giving any specifics about the threat itself.
It’s anticipated that the school will be open for a regular school day Wednesday.
Families should check the school district’s Facebook page or website for the latest information.
