WINNIPEG – The rural-city divide is evident in the latest poll gauging federal political parties’ support among Manitoba voters.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper still leads the results, with 44 per cent of Manitobans polled saying they’d vote for his party if an election were held today, while Justin Trudeau and the Liberals have 34 per cent support.

Thomas Mulcair and the NDP had 16 per cent support and Elizabeth May and the Green Party had five per cent support among decided voters.
But in Winnipeg, the numbers tell a different story.
The Conservatives have only 32 per cent support in the city, while the Liberals have the support of 42 per cent of decided voters.

Outside of Winnipeg, Harper’s party is the clear leader with 52 per cent support, while Trudeau’s Liberals only have 24 per cent support.
The poll done by Insightrix Research for Global News and CJOB solicited the voting intentions of 800 Manitobans. It is considered accurate to plus or minus 3.82 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
