Vancouver city councillor Tim Stevenson is back from Sochi.
He landed at Vancouver International Airport tonight.
He went to the Olympics as the representative for the city of Vancouver, to try to push for lesbian and gay rights in Sochi and the Olympic Games in general.
He was able to visit the only gay nightclub in Sochi, and he was able to meet with the International Olympic Committee, who listened to what he had to say.
“We met with the chief of staff of the IOC, we met with the top communications director of the IOC, and we had an almost hour-and-a-half discussion about, including sexual orientation into the Olympic Charter and they’re undertaking a complete review in which that is definitely on the table,” said Stevenson.
