WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have locked up a key member of their secondary by re-signing defensive back Alex Suber.
The import was scheduled to become a CFL free agent next month.

Suber has played four seasons with the Bombers. Last year, he started all 18 games and had two interceptions, a fumble recovery and 60 tackles.
“Alex is a proven player in this league,” said Bombers general manager Kyle Walters. “He brings an attitude to the field and is a great athlete on both defence and special teams. He was a player on our free agent list we targeted very early on as a guy we wanted back.”
