RCMP investigate possible case of animal cruelty near Taber

EDMONTON – Taber RCMP are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a dog was found dead on a rural property outside the town.

RCMP say the dog was found with wounds to its head and body.

The canine was taken to a local veterinary clinic, where an autopsy was performed to determine how it died.

On Saturday, RCMP confirmed the dog was beaten with a blunt object and shot.

Officers say “persons of interest” have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
