BC Coroners Service will hold public inquest into Burns Lake sawmill blast

The BC Coroners Service says it will hold a public inquest into the deaths of two workers who died in an explosion at the Babine Forest Products sawmill in Burns Lake in 2012.

45-year-old Robert Luggi and 42-year-old Carl Charlie died in the massive explosion and fire on January 20, 2012.

Twenty other workers were injured in the blast.

Earlier this month, the Crown said there would be no charges in relation to the incident.
