TORONTO — Only days after police executed a search warrant at his California home and named him a suspect in a felony vandalism case involving eggs, Justin Bieber‘s life is being ripped apart by the celebrity media.

Bieber, who turns 20 on March 1, has been silent about the latest controversies. He spent the weekend snowboarding in Aspen with friends and, on Monday, marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day by tweeting a quote from the civil rights leader:

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

Two different reports published online Monday allege the Canadian pop star has a serious drug problem and is embroiled in a heated dispute with on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez.

TMZ reported the L.A County Sheriff’s Department found a “treasure trove of drugs” in Bieber’s Calabasas mansion last Tuesday, including marijuana and prescription medication.

Citing unnamed sources, the website claimed deputies saw two large cookie jars filled with weed and four or five empty codeine bottles as well as drug paraphernalia. It alleged Bieber’s house has a room dedicated to smoking drugs.

TMZ reported the house was littered with Styrofoam cups which were used for Sizzurp — a highly addictive mixture of cough syrup, soda and candy. The concoction can be fatal if taken in high doses or mixed with alcohol or other drugs.

Bieber allegedly makes Sizzurp using Actavis Prometh with Codeine cough syrup, which TMZ claimed he gets from “a connection that secures it in another country.” The website alleged he drinks as much as 12 ounces a day.

According to TMZ, cops found empty Fanta bottles discoloured from the codeine.

None of the alleged drugs or paraphernalia were seized because they were, according to TMZ, outside the scope of the search warrant.

Police were focused on recovering surveillance video that may have captured Bieber pelting eggs at his neighbour’s house on Jan. 9.

TMZ has reported several times that Bieber “has developed a serious drug problem and his people are pushing him to enter rehab.”

In her book Nowhere But Up, Bieber’s mother Pattie Mallette opened up about her early struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. The pop star’s father Jeremy Bieber has been arrested for assault and breach of probation.

Mallette told Global News last summer Bieber knows all about her past.

“He knows my story and we talk about things that I’ve struggled with,” she said. “We’re close. We talk a lot.”

Also on Monday, RadarOnline reported it obtained graphic text messages allegedly between Bieber and Gomez.

“U r a drug addict. U need help,” reads one message said to be from Gomez. Bieber allegedly responded, “Come on. Don’t tell me you don’t miss this” and sent a photo of his erect penis. Gomez allegedly messaged back: “Stop it. You need to listen to Scooter [Braun, his manager] and go to rehab. U r sick.”

RadarOnline, part of the American Media Inc. company behind magazines like Star and the National Enquirer, reported it has verified the text messages are real.

But on Sunday, TMZ reported the texts and explicit photo are fake.

The London, Ont.-born singer has not been charged with any criminal offense. Reps for Bieber have not commented on any of the allegations.
