Campfires banned on Island

Camping this weekend? Don't count on roasting marshmallows
over a campfire. A campfire ban was imposed yesterday on southern
Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. The ban applies to B.C. parks
and all Crown lands. The ban does not affect fires in stoves using
gas, propane or briquettes.
