Saskatoon taxi driver unharmed after attempted robbery

SASKATOON – There was an attempted robbery of a Saskatoon taxi driver on Wednesday evening.

The cab driver had picked up a woman at the Mac’s Convenience Store in the 2300-block of 33rd Street West just after 8:30 p.m.

Based on her directions, the cabbie stopped in an alley off Marlborough Crescent. Two men then approached the cab and began damaging the vehicle.

The driver was able to escape safely and called police. He was not harmed.

The woman is Aboriginal, 25- to 30-years-old and was wearing a black jacket. There is no description of the men.
