GOODERHAM, Ont. – A woman is dead after the roof above her collapsed while she was clearing snow at her mother’s home north of Peterborough.
Provincial police say 64-year-old Bonnie Dewey was clearing the deck of the house on Saturday afternoon when the roof fell on her.

Police say it appears the collapse happened because of the weight of the heavy snow on the roof, and recent precipitation.
