WINNIPEG – With more than 25 years of experience, Claude Noel has been around the block and back when it comes to coaching.
Noel, now in the middle of his third season as the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, is respective of the fans who want to see the team become winners and would like General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to fire him if they don’t.
“For the fans, we feel their pain,” Noel said after practice on Thursday. “We hear their voices and I can tell you to a man with the players and the staff, we’re all feeling about the same.”

In the midst of a four game losing streak, Noel said that the players and he are confident and are trying to find solutions to back on track.
The Jets next chance to do that will be at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night.
Noel also understands that if the losing doesn’t stop, Cheveldayoff will have to make changes whether that be a player trade or a coaching change.
“I’m a realist. I understand exactly how things go,” said Noel. “That comes with this job. That’s just part of the territory. I don’t have an issue with that. I try not to focus on the negativity surrounding this position. We are going to win here one day and then I’ll be able to sit here and say we’re winning now. That’s going to happen – I’m confident in that.”
