TORONTO – Passengers hoping to fly in and out of the Toronto Pearson International Airport may have an easier time Thursday as the flight backlog caused by Tuesday’s ground stop seems to be clearing.
As of 6:40 a.m. ET, Pearson is reporting 44 cancelled flights overall.
Thousands of angry passengers were stranded this week after airplanes were not allowed to land on Tuesday morning due to extreme cold weather.
On Wednesday, up to 400 flights were cancelled as a result of the delays.

Passengers heavily criticized the way Pearson airport officials handled the cancellations and many took to Twitter to air their frustrations.

Today’s expected high is -5 degrees Celsius and temperatures are expected to warm up significantly this weekend with Saturday’s forecasted high of plus 9.
