EDMONTON – Some Edmonton residents in the Hamptons and Castledowns neighbourhoods were without power Sunday evening, as EPCOR dealt with a downed wire and a faulty cable.

For several hours, beginning around dinnertime, customers were without power as temperatures dipped below the minus 30 mark.

EPCOR said it was working on repairs, and would restore power as soon as possible.

Customers between 97 and 127 Street, and 140 and 167 Avenue, as well as between 199 and 225 Street, and 9 and 105 Avenue were affected.

About four hours after the outages were reported, EPCOR said crews were still underground, working on “complicated repair work in Hamptons and Castledowns.”
