‘The Queen Latifah Show’ picked up for second season

TORONTO — Queen Latifah’s daily talk show has been picked up for another season.

CBS Station Group, which airs The Queen Latifah Show in most of the U.S., renewed its deal through 2015.

In Canada, the show airs on Global.

In June, Katie Couric’s daytime show will wrap up after two seasons. The fate of freshman show Bethenny hasn’t yet been announced.

Latifah, 43, will face new competition in the fall from Meredith Viera’s new talk show and The Real — a panel show with Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai.

Before the launch of The Queen Latifah Show, the host told Global News she was confident her A-list friends would be guests.

“They want to have a home where they can come and feel comfortable and have real conversations and do fun stuff and not just promote whatever they have going on,” she said.
