BRAMPTON, Ont. – A 16-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed near a high school in Brampton.

Peel regional police say three suspects are in custody, but it’s not yet known how old they are or if they or the victim are students at Turner Fenton Secondary School.

The teenage victim was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in serious condition, though his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Const. Wayne Patterson says police believe the boy was stabbed around 11:20 a.m. on the outskirts of the high school property, near an entrance to a nearby plaza.

Patterson says the three suspects fled through the plaza but all three were arrested and are now likely facing charges.

Patterson says one of the suspects was also taken to hospital to be treated for injuries he received during the altercation, but the nature of his injuries weren’t immediately known.
