1. The re-election of Christy Clark.

In a shocking upset, the Liberals came back to win British Columbia’s election, a stunning turnaround for a party and a premier who had once been declared by one opinion survey as among the two worst in the country.

2. Massive fire destroys half-a-dozen business in New Westminster.

A building that was more than 100 years old were destroyed in the blaze that started near Columbia and Mackenzie Streets on Oct. 10.

3. B.C. and Alberta agree on pipeline framework.

The two premiers reached a broad framework agreement to work through B.C.’s five conditions to support the Enbridge Northern Gateway Project, and other pipelines on Nov. 5.

4. ‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith discovered dead in Vancouver.

He was found in the Fairmont Pacific Rim on the 21st floor at noon on July 13 after his room was searched when he failed to check out of the hotel.

5. Sexual assaults at UBC.

Police think one person is responsible for the attacks but they have not made any arrests at this time.
