TORONTO – The GTA is feeling the after effects of this weekend’s ice storm as cleanup begins and reduced service sets in.
Parts of the GTA are still without power. Toronto Hydro estimates at least 244,000 are still in the dark. Work continues to restore power across Southern Ontario.

Schools in Toronto, Peel and York region will be closed to the public. Childcare services will also be affected.

Transit services will also be affected. Expect delays and reduced service on GO Transit and TTC services.
Bad weather is also affecting the Maritimes as snow and freezing rain knocks out power and cancels multiple flights.
In the United States, nearly 100,000 were left without power as a winter storm brought ice and wind to upstate New York and northern Vermont. At least three people have died as a result of the storm.
