Man found dead in Toronto apartment ‘considered a homicide,’ police say

Toronto Police say a man was found dead inside a Scarborough apartment on Wednesday and the homicide unit is now investigating.

Police said paramedics were called to an apartment in the Lawrence and Morningside avenues area at around 11:19 a.m. for a medical complaint.

A man was found dead inside of the apartment, police said.

Officers were called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

He was identified in the afternoon as 40-year-old Mohamed “Mo” Abdalla Mohamed. Police said he was also known as Mohamed Awad.

Police said the death is being considered a homicide.

There is no word on suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
