It is a skier’s paradise at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre in Vernon this weekend.
The Haywood Teck and NorAm Sprint Series kicked off with a classic sprints competition on Saturday; a distance skate will be held on Sunday.
Ski teams from across North America are competing in this weekend’s races, which are taking place on the club’s brand new course.
Scott Lemon, general manager of Sovereign Lake, says the course is physically challenging, which is important for a sprints and classic course.
Many skiers use the NorAm races to qualify for international competitions later in the season.
