The drinking and driving simulators have been in place since 2009, costing roughly $100,000. They over exaggerate our driving and has a delayed response when hitting the breaks or taking a turn.

There was laughter in the room, but on the road, the issue is no laughing matter.

Last weekend alone, 30 motorists were charged with drinking and driving during an impaired driving enforcement blitz.

“Drinking and driving is still an issue within our province and country,” said Cpl. Allana Graham, RCMP Training Program Support at Depot Division. “People need to find another way to get home, so everyone gets home safe especially during the holiday season.”
