Jennifer Beals plays Teresa Colvin, who arrived at the pinnacle of the Chicago Police Department in a short period of time. She’s determined to implement changes before the mud that is Chicago politics clogs her office. As a result of Teresa’s difficult choices, she has made some powerful enemies along the way, including two street gangs, the police officers’ union and a city alderman who proves to be a dangerous adversary.

Known for taking risks in myriad different roles, Jennifer Beals remains a successful and hardworking actress. Winner of the 1999 San Jose Film Festival’s Maverick Award, Beals was most recently seen in the post-apocalyptic western feature film “The Book of Eli” opposite Denzel Washington, in a recurring role on LIE TO ME and in the French film “Joueuse.”

Beals starred in the critically acclaimed cable drama “The L Word” for six seasons. For her work on the series, she was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, as well as for a POWER UP! Award, the GLAAD Golden Gate Award and the Golden Satellite Award for Outstanding Actress.

Her film credits include “Rodger Dodger,” winner of the 2002 Best Feature Narrative from the Tribeca Film Festival and Best First Film at the Venice Film Festival, as well as “They Shoot Divas, Don’t They?,” “The Anniversary Party,” “A Feast of All Saints,” “A House Divided,” “Devil in a Blue Dress,” “Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle,” “The Twilight of the Golds,” “The Grudge 2,” “My Name is Sarah,” “Runaway Jury,” “Catch That Kid,” “Last Days of Disco,” “In the Soup,” “Four Rooms,” “Vampire’s Kiss,” “Doctor M.,” “Caro Diario” and “The Madonna and the Dragon.”

Originally from Chicago, Beals began her career after graduating from high school when she auditioned for “Flashdance,” resulting in a role which earned her a Golden Globe nomination and an NAACP Image Award for Best Actress. Understanding the importance of an education, she attended Yale University and graduated with honours.

Beals divides her time between Los Angeles and Chicago.
