The City of Saskatoon has introduced a new grant program for condominium associations and owners of multi-unit dwellings to offset the cost of purchasing and maintaining metal waste bins. Applications for the grant are now available, and must be submitted by November 30, 2010, to qualify for this year’s grant. Only multi-unit properties with four units or more that already have metal waste containers are eligible for this program.
It will be up to property owners to determine how they want to use the grant, either to purchase and maintain their own bin and use the City’s collection services, or to pay for a private waste removal service.
In 2010, the program has been funded for six months. Starting in 2011, it will be fully funded for all twelve months. An application must be submitted annually each fall for the grant.
