“Although the investigation is in very early stages, the initial evidence suggests that this was a targeted incident and the investigators are still working to determine a motive,” Sgt. Timothy Pierotti with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in a Saturday update.

“This incident occurred at a residence situated in the area of the Rocky View Playground and the London Sports Fields.”

Pierotti said although the incident, which was reported Friday night, is believed to be targeted, it is not believed to be connected to the ongoing B.C. gang conflict.

“We believe someone attended the residence with the intention of committing a murder, beyond that until we determine a motive and a suspect … I can not comment on what that intent was,” Pierotti said.
