Police say they’ve arrested one person but have not laid charges in the stabbing death of a man in downtown Hamilton Monday morning.
Detectives say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. near Park Street North and York Boulevard.
“Upon arrival, a male in his 50s was located with injuries,” const. Krista-Lee Ernst said in an email.
“Despite being transported to the hospital, the male was later pronounced deceased.”

Investigators say witnesses reported a male suspect wearing dark clothing running through Jackson Square shopping centre following the occurrence.
A 25-year-old was arrested around 11 a.m. by officers, but police have not revealed how that individual is connected to the matter.
No charges have been laid in the stabbing, so far.

Witnesses are still being sought by detectives and anyone with information can reach out to Hamilton police or Crime Stoppers.
