Vehicle crashes into tree, two taken to hospital

KELOWNA — Two people, both elderly, suffered undetermined injuries after their vehicle sped through a red light and crashed into a tree.

The incident happened on Highway 33 and Enterprise way Wednesday morning.

Central Okanagan traffic Services Constable Chris Neid says there are indications both the brakes and gas pedal were being pressed on at the same time.

“There are indications from witnesses that the tires were making a loud sound,” said Neid. “Brake and acceleration at the same time”

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital.
