Ridership at the Kettle Valley Steam Railway has hit a new high.
The railway saw 26,772 people take the train during this year’s regular season, which ended October 11th.
That is almost 1,000 more riders than in 2009.
General Manager Ron Restrick attributes the growth to the fact many people are choosing to take “staycations” and are touring what the province has to offer.
With 10 Christmas Express runs left, the railway expects to reach the 28,000 passenger mark by the end of the year.
