The Waterloo Region Catholic District School Board trustees accepted the resignation of Kitchener-Wilmot trustee Julie Molenaar on Monday night.
Molenaar issued a letter the board which said she was forced to resign due to personal circumstances.
She had been on the job for a few months, after being drafted in back in June to replace Wendy Ashby, who stepped down after a number of controversial tweets surfaced.
The board will now offer the job to Winston Francis, who was the runner-up last fall in the Cambridge-North Dumfries election.
This is the second time in just over a month that the board has had to call in a replacement as Waterloo- Wellesley-Woolwich trustee Sally Fuentes submitted her resignation in September, stepping away from the role due to personal reasons.
Conrad Stanley, who was also a runner-up in last fall’s election, was brought in as a replacement.
The last set of municipal elections was held across the province one year ago to the day, on Oct. 24, 2022.
These included the elections for local school boards and in just a year, the two main boards that serve Waterloo Region have now lost five trustees.
The public board also replaced two trustees this year after one died and another resigned to deal with an undisclosed illness.
