Mom Boucher stabbed in prison brawl: reports

MONTREAL – Maurice (Mom) Boucher, the former leader of the Hells Angels in Montreal, was reportedly one of two men stabbed at a Montreal-area jail on Saturday.

Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Gregory Gomez del Prado and the Correctional Service of Canada confirmed four inmates were involved in an altercation at the Ste. Anne des Plaines penitentiary about 2:30 p.m., but the officer and the agency would not name the inmates.

The attack took place in the courtyard.

One man was taken to a hospital and another, whom media reports identified as Boucher, was treated at the prison. Both men suffered minor injuries, Gomez del Prado said.

Boucher is currently serving three life sentences.

Both attackers are now in isolation, the Correctional Service said in a statement.

The Sûreté du Québec is conducting the investigation, Gomez del Prado said.

Boucher was convicted in 2002 of ordering the deaths of prison guards in an attempt to intimidate Quebec justice officials.

He survived a previous attack involving a makeshift knife in the prison’s common room later that same year. Boucher was only slightly injured, but his attacker was stabbed 21 times by five other inmates who rushed to Boucher’s aid.
