2023 Alzheimer Walk & Run; supported by Global Calgary & QR Calgary

For over 30 years, the IG Wealth Management Alzheimer Walk & Run has raised funds and awareness for Alzheimer Calgary, so we can continue supporting local families impacted by dementia.

This event has become a long-standing tradition for the Calgary community. Last year alone, over 1,000 passionate people, families, and caregivers impacted by dementia came together and raised over $350,000 for essential programs and services.

The annual event raises awareness, breaks down stigma, fosters a community of support for impacted families, and raises much-needed funds for local programs at Alzheimer Calgary.

This year, on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 8, 2023, we are excited to be taking strides for dementia.

About Alzheimer Calgary

Alzheimer Calgary has been supporting persons with dementia, their families, and caregivers for over 40 years. As a leader in our community, we strive to ensure they have access to high-quality education, care, and support throughout their journey.

For many families, a dementia diagnosis can be scary and overwhelming. It changes a family forever – stories of fear, stress, anxiety, and struggle are common amongst families facing a diagnosis. But so are stories of perseverance and hope.

In Calgary alone, over 20,000 people are living with dementia. Countless others in our community are navigating the journey alongside their loved ones. In the next decade, the number of dementia diagnoses is expected to double.

The need to arm our community with emerging, evidence-based information and local resources has never been greater.

As the largest fundraising event for Alzheimer Calgary, the 2023 IG Wealth Management Alzheimer Walk & Run will support programs and services right here in Calgary.
