Join Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman-Lee for a Folk-inspired Christmas with special guests The Bombadils, Kim Barlow and Steve Lee. Bringing together fiddle, banjo, mandolin and more, this festive folk concert will be presented at New Minas Baptist Church for an in-person audience. The performance will be live-streamed for those not able to be in the Annapolis Valley. ~ Canadian Folk Music Award nominees The Bombadils bring together bluegrass, Celtic, and singer-songwriter traditions with front-porch style and classical grace. Canadian arts journalist Bob Mersereau describes their music as “folk tunes done with musical adventure and sophistication” and Elmore Magazine calls it “an enchanting folk romp.” Kim Barlow is a creative and eccentric writer of songs, skillful on lute, guitar and clawhammer banjo. Barlow has recorded six albums of her own work and many collaborations. She founded the Music In Communities Cooperative to host concerts, workshops and other musical engagement in rural Nova Scotia. Steve Lee is yet another product of the St. FX Jazz program. He has been playing and teaching guitar and music theory in the Annapolis Valley since the 1990’s…sounds like a long time but as a musician, there is always more to learn and new people to work with.
