Tattoo Stories: Beyond The Ink

Lifted by Purpose 4TH ANNUAL TATTOO STORIES: BEYOND THE INK This year’s exhibit will take place on October 10th, 2019 from 6:00PM – 10:00PM at Artscape Sandbox – 301 Adelaide St. W, Toronto, ON, M5V 2E8. Tattoo Stories is an innovative way to address the way we look at mental health and wellness. Through photography & storytelling, Tattoo Stories takes a noninvasive approach to ignite conversation about mental health and wellness. The exhibit, held during Mental Illness Awareness Week, challenges societal stigma by using tattoos and the narratives associated with it, to increase empathy and validate the human experience. It features 16 participants, 4 photographer perspectives, and 3 dynamic Keynote speakers. We will also present a stress management booth, music by DJ Lissa Monet and free gift bags for the first 50 guests. Our guests will also enjoy hors d’oeuvres and have the opportunity to participate in raffle giveaways, valued at $50-$500 from Rebel and Beauty, FYInk, HousToronto, Giggles Malone and Pleasure and Pain Ink. This year’s speakers include TEDx talk speaker Jordana Goldlist, Raptors Courtside Reporter Akil Augustine and a surprise guest Tattoo Artist.
