Rod Charlesworth: Colourful Horizons

Please join Rod Charlesworth at the opening reception of,“Colourful Horizons” a solo exhibition of new oil paintings which opens at the West End Gallery in Edmonton. Drawing from the iconic Canadian shield terrain of the Northwest Territories and Northern Ontario, Charlesworth has created an exhibition that shows the best of the awe-inspiring north. Blending techniques from the impressionist school with group of seven sensibilities, Charlesworth’s splashes of bright colour perfectly describe the wild texture of rough evergreen branches and glassy lakes in the late evening light. Charlesworth’s paintings are a love letter to the essence of the Canadian landscape. Anyone gazing at a Rod Charlesworth painting of solstice light over the land would have to agree.
