Following on the success of last year’s event, Ryan Ellis of the Nashville Predators would like to announce the 2nd Annual Ryan Ellis Charity Golf Classic, to be held Thursday, June 29th, 2017 at Beverly Golf and Country Club in Copetown, Ontario.

The 1st Annual Ryan Ellis Charity Golf Classic, held on June 27th, 2016, was a resounding success with several current and past professional hockey players attending the charity event. Over $43,000 was raised for Ellis’ Elly4Kids Foundation, $30,000 of which was donated to the City of Hamilton to support its ongoing initiative to upgrade play structures in urban areas, a program to which Ellis is deeply committed.
Thanks to the proceeds generated by last year’s tournament Andrew Warburton Memorial Park in Central Hamilton was outfitted with three new state-of-the art play structures. An additional $2,000 was donated to 900CHML Christmas Tree of Hope, while another $2,000 went to the Christmas Children’s Celebration at
Cathy Wever School.

Ellis, who grew up just outside of Hamilton in nearby Freelton, had this to say about the event: “Thanks to the generous support of the community and local sponsors the Elly4Kids Foundation has been able to provide a safe, fun play environment for some great kids in Central Hamilton, while also contributing to other local children’s charities. This year we are looking forward to raising even more money to help out even more kids.”

This year Ryan’s charity will focus on raising money to install new play structures at North Central Park, located at 467 Wentworth Street in North, Hamilton.
NHLers attending this year’s event include former Maple Leaf captain Rick Vaive, Hall of Famer Paul Coffey and Stanley Cup winning defenceman Ric Nattress. Several current NHL players are also expected to attend. Although this year’s event is already sold-out plans for a larger tournament are already underway for next year.
