Apraxia Awareness Day! - image

May 14th is Apraxia Awareness Day! The Calgary Tower is going to be lit up blue for awareness about Apraxia.

May 14, 2024 – Tuesday

While the desire and the capacity to move are there, the person can’t execute the action. This occurrence raises awareness of childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), a rare motor speech disorder that affects less than 1% of children.

Calgary Apraxia is a charity organization that supports, empowers and connects families affected by Childhood Apraxia of Speech through Programming, Awareness campaigns, Resources and Community efforts (PARC).

Our goal is to enrich the lives of children affected by CAS by creating a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere for these kids to live their best life.

Camps for kids with Apraxia are happening here in Calgary from July 8 until August 16. This is an affordable camp for kids with major speech delays to be with other kids just like them.
