HILLSIDE FESTIVAL 2024

Friday, July 19th – Sunday, July 21st

Guelph Lake Conservation Area

Hillside Festival has announced today the full musical lineup for their 41st annual summer festival, taking place July 19-21 at Guelph Lake Conservation Area. The festival boasts over 50 Canadian and international artists, including Juno- and Polaris-prize winning Blackie & The Rodeo Kings (with Daniel Lanois and Terra Lightfoot), Patrick Watson, and Aysanabee, and internationally renowned artists like songwriter Richard Thompson and South African collective BCUC (Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness). Featuring a wide range of genres and musical styles in a beautiful island locale, the 2024 festival is going to be one to remember.

We are deeply excited to share in another stellar year of music, art, workshops, food, dance, and crafts with our community from Guelph and far, far beyond. We’re thrilled to be able to bring musical artists of such high quality from Canada and around the world to Guelph Lake Island,” says Kate Johnston, Hillside Festival’s Executive Director, “and there is so much more than music to celebrate at Hillside – from our family friendly atmosphere with children’s area activities and performances, to our yoga, wellness, and craft workshops, to our dedication to sustainability with every single cup, dish, and piece of cutlery washed and re-used on site for the entire weekend. Over 1300 volunteers come together to create the Hillside festival village every year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the island to celebrate the 41st annual Hillside Festival!”

The 41st annual Hillside Festival delivers a carefully curated program of artists from all over the world. During a time when we need to be more united than ever as citizens of planet earth – we bring you beautiful voices and sounds from home, across Canada, the US and across the oceans, all gathering on the island at Guelph Lake Conservation Area to celebrate our diversity, collective love of live music, the performing arts and to enjoy each other’s company”, remarks Hillside’s Artistic Director, Samir Baijal. “This edition of the festival features longer sets/changeover times, more collaborative sessions (workshops) and a more staggered programming schedule so that our audience may be able to see more performances on our stages.

The Hillside Community Festival is a not-for-profit music festival that celebrates creativity through artistic expression, community engagement, and environmental leadership. Speaking of environmental leadership, Hillside is one of the greenest festivals in Canada, winning multiple awards for its sustainability initiatives including on-site dishwashing and elimination of single-use plastics, and has been certified carbon-neutral since 2019. With a long running history in the Guelph community hosting an annual summer festival, downtown winter event, and additional performances throughout the year – Hillside is committed to sharing the best that the arts and music scene has to offer in Ontario.

The three-day festival takes place on the scenic Guelph Lake Island, July 19-21 this year. Tickets are available for purchase here.
